Through our doors walk our dearest friends.  We believe that they deserve our best effort and our deepest devotion. Here, we can provide for their health and their well being, giving our friends the long and happy lives they deserve.

Robert V. Mason - Owner and Founding Veterinarian

Dr. Mason graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1975 and completed an internship at Animal Medical Center in New York.  He returned to his native California in 1979 settling in Manhattan Beach.  After working for a number of years as a house call vet Dr. Mason opened Animal Medical Clinic in 1986.  In 2002 he took a job as Assistant Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA.  Dr. Mason currently holds the position of Associate Dean for Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Mason occasionally works on a Saturday at Animal Medical Clinic and enjoys reconnecting with our many long-time clients.

Marianne Mason - Hospital Administrator

As Dr. Mason's wife, Marianne "inherited" the management of Animal Medical Clinic when he left private practice.  She oversees the financial/business aspects of the clinic and is extremely grateful for the wonderful AMC staff who keep the clinic running smoothly day to day,  The Mason family has 2 dogs and 2 cats.  Their Yorkie, Winston, is the dog love of Marianne's life and frequently visits the clinic with her.

 Christine Pott - DVM

Dr Pott graduated in 1981 from Colorado State University, Ft. Collins, Colorado.  She has been practicing in Southern California since 1981 and has been the main doctor at Animal Medical Clinic since 2002.

Dr Kimberly Daffner

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Dr Daffner escaped the desert and moved to Redondo Beach in April, 2010.  Dr Daffner received a B.S. from University Nevada Las Vegas in 1987 and then her professional veterinary medical degree from Colorado State University in 1991.  She considers herself a "family practitioner" and she celebrates the bond between humans and their furry friends.  Her newest medical passion is ultrasound.  In her spare time she runs, gardens, plays tennis, and enjoys a glass of good red wine with a delicious home cooked meal.

Chrissa - Office Manager

"I grew up in New Hampshire and moved out to California in January 2007 following my graduation from Plymouth State University with a degree in Business Administration.  I have always had multiple pets and I can't imagine working in a more rewarding field.  Not only do I get to spend my days with some of the best animals, but this stellar staff and our loyal clients make my job a piece of cake."

Vicente - Head Veterinary Assistant

"I started working here in 1997 as a Kennel and Technician Assistant.  I've loved animals since I was a kid and always dreamed about how exciting it would be to work with pets.  Animal Medical Clinic gave me the opportunity to realize those dreams and I've been working here ever since.  I am now the head Technician and am also in charge of ordering.  I love my job and I will be here to help your pets have a great, healthy life with the help of everybody at Animal Medical Clinic."

Jessie - Receptionist

I started working at Animal Medical Clinic in April of 2009.  Being able to be surrounded by adorable animals everyday is so much fun!  I have two boxers; Gnarles and Precious, and two cats; Pancake and Floyd.  If I had the room I would probably try to take in every animal I saw in need of a home!

Joyce - Receptionist

I've been working in the veterinary field since 1995 and was thrilled to have joined the Animal Medical Clinic family in February of 2012!  Pets have always been a huge part of my life and I can't imagine working in a more rewarding field.  I believe pets enrich our lives beyond measure, and the team here truly inspires me to do my best for our clients and their furry family members.

Christina - Receptionist

I started working at Animal Medical Clinic in 2009.  I have 3 cats and one dog, Devon, who comes to work with me every day.  I plan on pursuing a career as an animal cruelty investigator.

Lysken - Veterinary Technician

"I have always been a huge animal lover,  I grew up in the country taking in any strays and injured wildlife that came my way.  Prior to relocating to Southern California in 2005 I worked with Hunter/Jumper show horses.  I've volunteered at numerous rescue organizations and therapeutic riding facilities.  I have been working at Animal Medical Clinic since December 2006.  Working with a team who treats all animals like their own pets has been amazing.  I'm loving every moment of it!"

Mark - Veterinary Assistant

"I am a graduate of South High School in Torrance and attending El Camino Collage Firefighting Academy.  I became interested in animals while growing up with my own pets.  I especially like dogs.  I have 2 of my own, both Bichon Frise."

Lacy - Veterinary Assistant

"I first started at Animal Medical Clinic as a volunteer in December, 2007.  Since then, I have had the fortune of becoming a part-time staff member.  I have always enjoyed being around animals and, as a child, had hopes of becoming a Veterinarian.  Being able to see the practice first hand has only made those hopes stronger.  I am now positive of my future career goals.  I enjoy coming to work every shift and it feels great to know that I can be a part of helping animals."

Jessica - Veterinary Assistant

"I started working at Animal Medical Clinic in 2008.  I love working with dogs and cats.  When I see pets that are sick I am drawn to give them attention and make them comfortable.  I am always learning more here and enjoy being a part of the team."

Maribel - Medical Records

"I started here as a receptionist in February 2005 and soon was promoted to medical records.  I love pets, especially Boxers.  I love their faces; they look so peaceful and happy.  I like how everybody works here, greeting everyone with a smile, and helping anyone I can assist.  We have an excellent team.  We strive to do the very best every single day."

 Effram "Effie" - Hospital Cat

I've been living here since 2008 and really wouldn't know what to do anywhere else!  I like begging for food and getting into things I shouldn't - if it's left out it must be mine! If I can't reach it, I must, because it's mine!  If it's put away I'm indignant, because, yes, it's mine!  I have my own fan club in our window facing Artesia; people stop and knock on the window and ask for me.  I love showing off even though I pretend I'm indifferent.
